Quarter Tone Mediation LLC was founded by Jackie Otero, a Florida Supreme Court-certified family mediator, business professional, and higher education leader based in Winter Park, Florida. With a Master’s degree in business, a Bachelor’s degree in sociology, and 20+ years of experience managing hundreds of employees and thousands of clients, she served as a paralegal, professor, university dean, and conduct officer before moving into family mediation. She combines personal experience in navigating difficult family scenarios with professional experience in facilitating conflict resolution in business to help you efficiently move on with the next chapter of life.

In music, the quarter tone is a pitch halfway between two notes on a standard scale. As a family mediation practice, our aim is similarly to find the halfway point between two perspectives. We strive to help families fulfill two major goals:

  1. Keep families out of the court system, saving them time, stress, and money.

  2. Allow people to move on to their own thriving lives while keeping peace with their co-parent.

We believe that a relatively peaceful divorce is preferable AND achievable if both parties are reasonable and thoughtful about the process.
